With Gratitude: Closing Announcement from Vine and Fig Tree

It is with a deep sense of both gratitude and heaviness that I share this news with you: after five and a half years of serving foster youth and under-resourced individuals in our community, our nonprofit will be formally closing its operations.

This was not an easy decision, but after considerable thought, changes in organizational capacity, and a changing landscape of needs and resources, we have come to the conclusion that it is time to sunset this chapter of our work.

Over the past five years, thanks to your support and collaboration, we’ve been able to make a real and lasting impact. Together, we’ve helped young adults transition into stable housing and employment. We’ve cultivated a sense of community and dignity for individuals who have known too much instability. We’ve shown up in big and small ways—whether through mentorship, donations, breakfast drop-offs for social workers, and moves into a first apartment.

You made this possible. You helped restore hope.

While this nonprofit is coming to an end, my personal commitment to this work and to the young people we’ve walked alongside remains. I hope to stay in touch, and I would welcome any future conversations, collaborations, or reflections about how we might all continue serving in new ways.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me personally at jennifer.m.pool@gmail.com. I would truly love to hear from you.

Thank you for being a part of this journey. You have left a lasting mark.

With sincere gratitude,
Jen Pool
Former Managing Director, Vine and Fig Tree
